Strategy:
We believe in the importance of providing next steps for every person who attends New Community. The reason for this is simply that we each need to be challenged in our growth process. Having said that, we also recognize the danger in defining spirituality. We never want to be a place where a person can just check off their list and in the process think that they have somehow arrived. So the caution we offer is this: doing these things will not make you spiritual but a spiritual person does these things. The distinction here is extremely important and has everything to do with one’s heart.
We have created four unique steps that were intended to be sequential in nature. Along with each step, a location has been identified where that step can be fulfilled.
2. REVEAL God to Others (Mt. 9:35-38): Be Involved in a Community Outreach Event (Col. 4:2-6)
3. APPLY God’s Principles to my Life (2 Cor. 3:18): Attend a Community Group (Ecc. 4:9,10)
4. Make an IMPACT with my Life (Eph. 2:10): Serve in a Ministry (Phil. 2:3, 4, 7)
We recognize that these steps also have great depth. Consistently Attending Sunday Worship is a great way to begin the process of Putting God at the CENTER of my Life but it isn’t the end-all. Those who are already fulfilling these steps, with the right heart, will also find that they can go much deeper within each specific step in their own spiritual journey.
